Sequence
Four steps, and money moves only at the last one.
Most transfers finish inside two weeks of a figure being agreed. The slow part is usually paperwork on the buyer's side, not ours.
01 The steps
Name, figure, escrow, yours
-
The name
You tell us which name you are asking about, and who else at the company should be on the thread. We confirm it is ours, that it renews in good order, and that nothing is pointed at it.
Within one Pacific business day
-
The figure
One asking price, in writing, in US dollars. If it does not work for you, say so and say what would; we answer yes or no rather than trading counter-offers for weeks.
Same exchange
-
Escrow
A transaction is opened with a licensed escrow agent in the buyer's company name. You fund it by wire or card as the agent allows; we see only that funds are secured, never your payment details.
Usually two to five business days
-
Yours
We start the transfer to your registrar, or push the name to your account where both sides use the same registrar. When you confirm it is in your control, the agent releases the funds. We then check that the name resolves where you point it.
Push: same day. Registrar transfer: up to seven days
02 Who pays what
Itemised before anything is signed.
- PriceThe figure agreed at step 2. Nothing is added to it by us.
- Escrow feeCharged by the agent, not by us. Who carries it, or how it is split, is written into the escrow terms.
- TransferIf your registrar charges a transfer fee, it usually includes a year of renewal.
- AfterwardsRenewals are billed by your registrar to you. We have no further role or charge.
03 If it stalls
You are not out of pocket.
If the transfer cannot complete for any reason on our side, the escrow agent returns the buyer's funds under its own rules. Questions we hear often are collected on the answers page.
